Ignorance is very expensive!

Good writing skills, also known as copy writing, is necessary to marketing online. Heck, good writing skills are necessary to marketing and sales in all arenas. I am not a professional copywriter either, but I have been writing for a long time. It is a learned skill. The following is a series of tips and resources to help you achieve good results.

I have developed the ability to write the same way I talk. My 7th grade English teacher is rolling over in her grave now. I know this because when I was in 7th grade she was in her 60s, so I am pretty sure she is passed otherwise she would be famous for being the oldest person living. Her name was Miss Clark and would often smack you with a ruler for poor grammar.

Today we have PCs and MS Word to help us with avoiding typos, which is another thing you want to avoid if possible. With that said I still make dumb mistakes with my typos. Words like 'your and you're', a lot and allot (alot is not a word), and there and their still catch me. Here is a great resource for the most often misspelled words: Confused and Misused Words

When writing for Internet marketing, primarily, email, make sure you speak of the benefits, not the features. Example: (FEATURES) This system has really neat buttons that make a cool sound when you click on them. (BENEFITS) This system is very easy to navigate and with little effort will produce results.

Make sure your copy also starts out with a quick summary. This way your reader can quickly decide if the letter warrants their interest. Then end it with a summary as well.

Make your draft summary first, then just type as if you were actually talking to someone. Be yourself.

I also recommend you get Yanik Silver's Instant Sales Letters as a good reference source. Yanik has produced a well crafted tool to make copy writing do-able for the beginner and makes a great Gear Grinder for the veteran suffering from writer's block. The book is a great resource and has helped thousands to achieve effective results.

Google is great!
But what if there were no search engines?

I'm sure you've seen a web-ring. To refresh, they are a group of related sites that link to each other. Veretekk™ marketing is the same concept, but on a much grander scale. 2. Directory Listings - Quite simply, this is the easiest way to get your site indexed by search engines. There are many free directories that you can get your site listed in, and there are many fee-based directories that are worth the price of adding your site. The added value is that since your site is listed categorically, it helps to re-enforce what your site offers, since it will be found with similar sites.

3. Articles - Expose your expertise! While article writing is not easy, it is an extremely valuable asset to your site. By writing, you are creating unique content found nowhere else and we all know how much search engines love that! It also gives you another way of explaining a product or service without coming off as a sales pitch. Another added benefit of writing articles is that it's a great way to naturally grow the size of your site in an organic way, and will in turn, make your site become a "hub" of relevant information in regards to your industry. You will also learn this is many of our trainings.

4. Newlsetters - This should be your site's bread and butter. The people who have signed up for your newsletter already feel that your site was worth their time to give you their email address, so these people have already place some trust and value into what you have to say. The newsletter is where you can promote new products and services to interested users without risking any intrusiveness factors. This is the best place to make a sales pitch to your perspective readers! Can you say, "The Bully Pulpit?"

5. Blogs/RSS Feeds - While to some people this is already old-hat, there are many users out there (think AOL users) who have no idea about how to customize the content they want to read. There are many areas to get your blog listed, and it gives an inside point-of-view into the inner workings of your company or personality, thus giving yet another way for a user to identify with you or your site.

I think it's safe to say that the search engines will always be around, but to focus entirely on them and ignoring the other resources could be a costly business mistake.

Just remember to keep your eye on the prize of online success, and customers coming from various outlets, not just the search engines.

The past week I used a new software for screen capturing. It is called ALLCapture by Balesio. I searched far and wide for a quality capture program that would make sharp high quality Flash videos with small file size, and was about to give up when I found this. Thank you Google.

I did this because the Training Modules in the Veretraining Center were all Vereconference™ saved files and will not play in our new Vereconference™ rooms. Now that they are Flash videos they do.

Trouble Shooting
Huge Lead database are causing trouble!

We have heard from some of our subscribers that are having issues getting there huge leads database to open in the Bully Pulpit.

I have a Veretekk system with over 1 million that is also failing. We have solutions in the works…..BUT!

I am testing the 1 million leads system and the computers that have 4 gigs of ram or more are loading without issues. So if you are one of the fortunate with a ton of leads with the BP failing, try upping your memory. Let us know if that helps.

But we are also working on a solution from our side as well.

One of the biggest business problems that exist in business today whether it be on-line or off-line, is business owners who are inexperienced in running a business. Now you probably are saying "If they are running a business then they must know what they are doing?" Not True!

 

Many businesses are run by people who have gotten into the business under the following several methods.

• One they inherited it from a family member and are running it like the family member ran it years ago.
• Two they started it small and spent money to grow it. The money coming from personal assets, not business cash flow. In other words they are spending money that is either equity in their house, savings, or other money that is non company generated revenue.
• They just simply are gutting it through on sheer brute strength to burn out later.

These business owners are enamored with the idea of running a business and talk about it like they are Bill Gates, or Donald Trump, but in fact they are totally unclear how to perform the task efficiently. What runs the business is their personal "ego" and because of it they don't listen to constructive criticism and end up pumping their "life's savings" into the business.

 

Where does the money go? When they pump their life savings into their business it is over time which doesn't seem to be a whole lot since it is added to the little cash flow the business generates. These business actually generate cash flow but the expenses are always higher than the cash flow. "Parkinson's Law" your expenses will always equal of exceed your income. They are always behind the "eight ball" and to get out they put their money into the business. This cash infusion is done gradually so as to not be terribly noticeable to the business owner. All of a sudden the business owner wakes up and says where did all my money go?

 

Every one else got it, dumb ass!

• Your vendors got it.
• Your employees got it.
• Your accountant got it.
• Your Lawyer got it.

Get the picture! Everyone got it except you! I have seen highly intelligent people do this and end up with nothing. The public thinks the business owner is wealthy because they only see the outside of the business. The employees think the business owner is wealthy because even though the see low sales they don't quite understand the whole cash flow picture, and as long as they get their paychecks then they are happy. The same thing goes to your accountant, who you would think would tell the business owner of the problem but they are only accounting for the cash coming in the door, and how to deduct the cash infusion that the business owner is making out of his or her pocket. The may say get sales up and get the remark back " I am running my business you just do the accounting". The accountant is collecting their fees so they keep quiet. [Does anyone remember Enron! This is what happened on a massive scale and an accounting firm folded because of it.] See most of the problem businesses are small and don't have staff that will take the owner to task. If they do the owner's "EGO" is so big that they bully the people and get their way.

 

So when anyone is asked to do business with these types of businesses, these business owners leave people with a bad taste in their mouth. What happens is the business owner try's to go cheap and get everything for nothing because they have such horrible cash flow. So doing business with these types of people causes poor cash flow for the other business because of the slow pay of the problem of the bad business owner. Take a business owner who runs an efficient business, and they end up doing business with the slow pay, [Vendors don't always know about the cash flow of these business so they end up doing business with them until they discover that they don't pay or are a slow pay then they discontinue their business connections with the poorly run business. The incompetent business is then off to the next vendor to cheat.] This vicious cycle is pervasive in business and puts lots of lawyers to work which makes the situation worse.

 

These businesses are common and employee many people who when they fold, lose their jobs or leave and go to another one of these shaky operations. I have to tell you I see them all the time. This is why we have established "A Virtual Office" and the "Partner Development Program". We can take these people and restructure their business to make it into a profitable, cash machine. The problem is that the "EGO" of the business owner has to be removed otherwise the old habits will continue to occur.

 

We have found that most of these problems are out of incompetence, and not procrastination But when you couple the two together you have a recipe for disaster. Why Did we build it?
With God anything is possible!
Some people ask me how I did it. But most of you wonder why did I do it. Why did I spend more than 12 years of my life working 20+ hours a day to build Veretekk? I ask myself this question everyday. And everyday I get another answer to that question when I hear from you.

 

When I first started out I had a vision that was bigger than me. A vision that eclipsed the sun. A vision I only saw a small part of, like an iceberg. Year after year I was blinded by the Lord as to the whole picture as I struggled to stay with it. I knew what I was doing was paramount in importance, but not until today did I start to realize what Veretekk is really all about.

 

You will find clues throughout the entire Veretekk system what this vision is about. You will see it's influence by looking at my partner Mike Darling. Mike caught this vision early on as I started building Veretekk. I am humbled to have Mike as my partner. I have always known that to achieve great things, surround yourself with great people. To say Mike Darling is a great man is an understatement. Having Mike as my partner over all these years has been an inspiration and confirmation that this quest was bigger than me and would have tremendous effect in this world gone mad.

 

Veretekk is a true test. Many have come and gone in this field of battle. Veretekk makes champions. Veretekk reveals the true inner strength. Many have quit because it was too hard with many giving up after a few months. However, many have returned and made the commitment to succeed and have done so.

 

Last year I rebuilt and re-launched our Sohomatic portal. The redesign was based on my intuition that the economy was under going a major shift with the threat of an impending recession on the horizon. We are also facing a major political shift as well. All of this fits right in with what Veretekk does. Talk about timing. I believe that Veretekk's greatness is about to explode with what we are seeing happening on a global scale.

 

So where are you in all of this? Do you have what it takes? What price are you willing to pay? I don't think many of you know what I sacrificed to build Veretekk. I leveraged my home. I lost my wife. I lost site in my right eye. I can't sleep at night from the ravages of sleep deprivation. I fought this battle with everything I have. I won a horrible divorce and custody of my children, during this period of time, not with an attorney, but with faith in God and love. I beat back bankruptcy with prayer and faith. It was NOT EASY. It never is! But with faith in God and the support and loyalty of many of you including my partner Mike Darling, we succeeded. Mike, I want to take a moment here to say, "Thank you so much for joining me in this. It wouldn't be Veretekk without you!"

I have included the following video because it really illustrates the greatness in all of us. How often do you really push yourselves beyond your perceived abilities? Are you satisfied with the level of your achievements? I know I am but I also know I can still do better. I know we can all do better. During this time of uncertainty, it is even more important to re-dedicate ourselves to that pursuit. Roll up your sleeves and dig in. We built Veretekk for you. Now all you have to do is learn and apply with determination and discipline.

 

Seeing this video reminds how God got me to build Veretekk. Never did I see the finish line. God blindfolded me. I could see what I thought what was needed and it always looked like a few months away. It went on and I always thought maybe a few more months. With three years passed and still working 20-hour days I still only saw a few more months to go. Many nights I worked exhausted with tears of pain and despair dripping down my face and I continued on. I refused to quit. I had come so far. The pain got to be so great I resorted to writing poetry to help with the pain. At this point I knew I had come so far I could never quit. I resolved to die first then quit.

 

During this time my divorce was in full swing with false accusations being made against me left and right. My children were at risk. The best friend my wife ran off with also filed lawsuits against me. My attorney was not doing a good job, so with what additional time I had, I fought that divorce myself with the same determination as I built Veretekk.

 

I was accused of doing drugs. I was accused of all kinds of horrible things. I was under attack of my very life and freedom. The police showed up with search warrants and searched my home. The children protection agency searched my home and questioned me about doing drugs. The police investigated me for conspiracy to attempt to murder my wife. All false claims against me in all of this and I never gave up. I successfully defended against all of these attacks. I even won the custody of my wonderful children. I worked and built Veretekk with that vision that you needed this to survive the coming economic earthquake that is now looming before us.

 

I have poured every penny I could earn into this venture. I leveraged every dollar of equity in my home into this. And God has never left my side every step of the way. Were would I be today if I had quit? With no one to pick me up but God, quitting was never an option. I made a commitment to you 12 years to do this and today I look back and listen to the music of that time and read those many poems I wrote and I find the whole thing to be an inspiration to my love for Jesus. I finished building this Ark last year. I stand tall and strong in my conviction that with God and determination and a vision anything is possible!

 

This Sunday I will share the music that inspired me and the poems I wrote during the building of Veretekk. I will have my children with me too. I want all of you to understand that there is nothing you cannot achieve if you put everything you have in God's hands. You have to face your fears and put your faith in God that you can do it. It doesn't matter who you think you are. Veretekk is here. We are not going away. We are here to lift you up to greatness. We are the greatest hope on the Internet. We are family!

 

I resolve to give God everything I got, and leave the results up to Him. I want to know if you will join me. With God, all things are possible!

So where does that leave us? In the middle fighting to maintain our life style.

 

Gas prices are soaring. The cost of living is on the rise. The value of the US dollar is dropping. Most of us in the middle class are burdened by crushing debt. And to make it worse we are being attacked from all sides!

 

We can blame ourselves. When was the last time you went shopping for clothes? Did you check the labels? Everything is from China, not the USA like it was not so long ago. And I bet you pay for everything with your credit cards.

 

Speaking of credit cards, we are guilty of buying ourselves into debt. This is part of the problem. Your home, your auto, your boat, etc. are all owned by the bank and you make payments every month from your shaky income to maintain this debt. By the way, if you own your home it is not an asset unless you are renting it out and not living in it, and if you are refinancing your home as the equity increases to pay off debt, you are following the fool's pursuit.

 

Even though the United States has the most advanced medical industry in the world, it is expensive and medical insurance for the average family of four is over $1000 over month. But nationalizing our health care is not the answer.

 

And you can bet that taxes will rise considerably if the Democrats take control the presidency as well as the house, and you are the one the taxes will rise for.

 

And as taxes rise you can also expect the local job market will shrink as well.

Screencastings are simply recorded sessions that are done inside a Vereconference web conferencing room.

 

These recordings are extremely simply to accomplish, but more than that, they offer added value to any presentation that you are making out on the internet. The process, which does take time to learn, is as simple as purchasing your own Vereconference room, for just pennies per day, and pre-planning your presentations to look professional when you are through recording.
